It is my joy, my privilege,
To talk to you, earth.
My silver hope
    And
My golden faith
Are centred inside the breath
Of your heart.
Heaven is God’s Dream,
Nothing more.
You are God’s Reality.
Something more:
You are God’s own Progress.

2. A real Guru

Who is a real Guru?
A real Guru is he
Who does not call you stupid,
    Undivine and useless.
A real Guru is he who says:
“You have knowledge,
But you need more knowledge.
Try, you certainly can!”

A real Guru is he who says:
“You are divine,
But you can be more divine.
Try, you certainly can!”

A real Guru is he who says:
“You are useful,
Infinitely more useful
Than you ever can imagine.
But you can be more useful.
Try, you certainly can!”

A real Guru is he who says:
“You are God’s chosen instrument.
You are useful,
You are fruitful,
You are indispensable
To the divine Vision of God.”

3. The builders

Don’t forget,
You are the builders
    Of tomorrow’s world.
What do you have?
    Inspiration-flood.
That is enough.
What else do you have?
    Aspiration-blood.
That is more than enough.
God has a message for you:
    Don’t imitate,
    But create something new
    That will forever last.

4. Why do you suffer?

You suffer
    Because
You trust idle rumours.

    Because
You do a lot of hasty thinking.

    Because
You do not eschew clever opportunism.

That your doubtful mind
Is a big blot
On your soul’s fair smile?

On your heart’s deep cry?

That your argumentative mind
Is a big blot
On your God’s Compassion?

Don’t you know
That there is no difference
Between your doubtful mind
And your militaristic mind?

Don’t you know

Between your suspicious mind
And your imperialistic mind?

Don’t you know
That there is no difference
Between your argumentative
And your unrealistic mind?

6. Because you are great

Your body loves you
    Because
You are a great sleeper.

Your vital loves you
    Because
You are a great warrior.

Your mind loves you
    Because
You are a great debater.

Your heart loves you
    Because
You are a great server.

Your soul loves you
    Because
You are a great observer.

Your God loves you
    Because
You are a great dreamer.

7. Don't speak ill of them

Don’t speak ill of your poor body.
It regularly feeds itself;
You are just not aware of it.

Don’t speak ill of your poor vital.
It regularly widens itself;
You are just not aware of it.

Don’t speak ill of your poor mind.
It regularly empties itself;
You are just not aware of it.

Don’t speak ill of your poor heart.
It regularly fills itself;
You are just not aware of it.

Don’t speak ill of your poor God.
He regularly examines Himself;
You are just not aware of it.

8. Look!

You are not blind.
Look at your mind.
Your mind is a rich awakening.

You are not weak.
Look at your heart.
Your heart is a rich resolve.

You are not hopeless.
Look at your soul.
Your soul is a rich harvest.

You are not useless.
Look at your God.
Your God is all for you,
    For you alone.

9. Remember one more thing

Ignorance-insincerity
Is the marked feature
Of your unlit mind.

Remember, God needs your mind.

    What you call life-building...
    I call that very thing
    God-flowering.

Why don’t you play,
    Sing and dance?

    God’s universal Love
    Of immortal Oneness?
If you fail to believe
    I am sorry.
Your heart-life
    Is nothing
    But
A progressive poverty.

In his animal life

There was no human observer.

    In his human life
He is happy
    Because
He is always at the Feet
    Of God the constant Forgiver.

    In his divine life
He will be happy

He will always play
    With God the unconditional Lover.

As a dreamer
In Your Heaven.

On Your earth.

I can be eternally happy
    Only when
My silence-heart is filled
    With God-cries.

His Dream-Boat is filled
    With man-smiles.

Love is not becoming,

    Of course,

The ignorance of your unaspiring heart.

From the din and roar
Of the exterior world;
    Therefore
God is offering you
His Beauty’s Height.

From the ruthless desire-invasion
Of the interior world;
    Therefore
God is offering you
His Duty’s Pride.

In the unlit chamber of the mind,
I have every reason to rejoice;
And I constantly do so.

In the unwidening cave of the heart,

No more hurdles
Between me and my Lord Supreme!
He has given me two supreme boons:
His lotus Feet belong to my heart;
The tyranny of my ego-life
From now on is His concern,
And not mine.

He is really great and sublime.

Considering himself a spiritual orphan
To become the bridge between God and man.

You repeated God’s Name
With the clever tongue
Of your mind.
God was afraid of your dangerous deception;
    Therefore
He did not dare to near you,
Let alone bless you.
    But now
You repeat God’s Name
With the loving adoration
Of your heart.
Look, God is not only embracing you,
But also claiming you,
You alone, as His very own.

33. Compassion lifts me up

My feet have slipped
    And
I have not held out my arms;
    Yet
The Compassion of my Lord Supreme
Lifts me up.

My life of aspiration
Has been lost in the world
Of hallucination and temptation
    And
My heart is empty of cries and sorrow;
    Yet
The Compassion of my Lord Supreme
Lifts me up.

34. My Lord says

I have just begun my long journey
With my first step.
    Look,
My Lord says that
I have far advanced on the path.

I have just begun to meditate
In the early hours of the morning.
    Look,
My Lord says that
My Goal no longer remains
    A far cry.

35. Don't you worry!

True, your mind is a rebel.
    But don’t you worry!
God is determined
    To convert your unruly mind
    Into a perfectly disciplined child.

    True, your life is ignorance-reality.
    But don’t you worry!
God is determined
    To teach you to swim
    Across the sea of Perfection-reality.

36. The indispensables

Silence is indispensable,
For silence is concentrated power.

Joy is indispensable,
For joy is meditative light.

Love is indispensable,
For love is contemplative oneness.

Who needs a disciplined life?
Perhaps my body needs it.

Who needs a purified life?
Perhaps my vital needs it.

Who needs an expanded life?
Perhaps my mind needs it.

Who needs a surrendered life?

In the body
Emotion is self-indulgence.

    In the vital
Emotion is self-temptation.

    In the mind
Emotion is self-mortification.

    In the heart
Emotion is self-expansion.

39. No happiness there

Don’t be in love with machinery.
There is no happiness there.

Don’t be in love with money.
There is no happiness there.

Be in love with your heart-life.
There, only there,
Is the flood of happiness.

40. You feel, you hear, you see

You feel.
What do you feel?
You feel God’s Presence.

    You hear.
What do you hear?
You hear God’s Voice.

    You see.
What do you see?
You see God’s Face.

When you feel,
God is pleased with you.
When you hear,
God is proud of you.
When you see,
God is ready to garland you.

Who applauds you?
He who longs to imitate you.

Who stones you?
He who knows
That you are far beyond his imitation.

Who loves you?
He who wants to know you.

Who hates you?
He who wants you
To be ignorant of him.

Who told you
That spirituality
Is a compartment
Totally cut off
From the activity-flow?
    Who told you
That spirituality
Is not life-blossoming?
    I tell you
Once and for all:
Spirituality is activity-flow,
Spirituality is life-blossoming,
    Plus
Spirituality is God-becoming.

What is a Guru?
A Guru is he who devours
    The ignorance-sea of his disciple.

    What is a disciple?
A disciple is he who swims
    In the wisdom-sea of his Guru.

    What is a Guru?
A Guru is he who finds himself
    In the soul of his disciple.

    What is a disciple?
A disciple is he who loses himself
    In the heart of his Guru.

44. Arise in faith!

Arise in faith!
Earth will give you
    All its love.

    Arise in faith!
Heaven will give you
    All its joy.

    Arise in faith!
God will give you
    All His Freedom.

    Arise in faith!
You will realise
That you are not only in all,
Of all and for all,
    But also
    You are ALL.

45. You will be stronger

Fight injustice.
Your soul will be stronger.
    Combat wrong.
Your heart will be stronger.
    Oppose doubt.
Your mind will be stronger.
    Abjure domination.
Your vital will be stronger.
    Serve truth.
Your body will be stronger.

What was your main obstacle?
Your animal hunger.
What is your main obstacle?
Your human pride.
What will be your main obstacle?
Your fear of total surrender.

What was your peerless treasure?
Your silver faith.
What is your peerless treasure?
Your golden love.
What will be your peerless treasure?
Your diamond oneness.

I was a man of ideas,
    But my ideas were
Uncertain and vague.

I was a man of ideals,
    But my ideals were
Blind and selfish.

Now that I have become
A man of principle,
My ideas faithfully serve me
    And
My ideals soulfully elevate me.

Transform your desire-night
Into aspiration-light.
Do not desert your good God.
Remember, God needs only you,
    And nobody else.

Into Perfection-height.
Do not disappoint your good God.
Remember, God needs only you
    And nobody else.

You say
He has a sharpened mind.
    I say
He has a darkened mind.
Perhaps we both are right.

    You say
His heart is all love for humanity.
    I say
His heart is all love for Divinity.
Perhaps we both are right.

    You say
His soul is of God.
    I say
His soul is for God.
This time no “perhaps”;
We both are unmistakably right.
