Interviewer: I understand that you have approximately one hundred meditation centres throughout the world and you teach a practical way of attaining inner peace. What is the philosophy behind your particular spiritual teaching?

Sri Chinmoy: My philosophy is very simple — love, devotion and surrender. Our philosophy is based on divine love, divine devotion and divine surrender. We love God without expecting anything from God. We devote ourselves to God’s Will and we surrender our earth-bound life at every moment to His Heaven-free Consciousness. While offering God what we have and what we are, we receive from Him infinite Joy, infinite Love, infinite Compassion and also infinite Fulfilment. We give God what we have and what we are, which is absolutely insignificant. But just because we offer to God what we have soulfully and unconditionally, He receives it with tremendous satisfaction. In return, He gives us His infinite Blessings and infinite Love and Light. So our philosophy is based entirely on love, devotion and surrender.
