The human soul and the soul divine
The human soul is the kiss of night; The soul divine is the bliss of day.
Like eye and sight, like nose and smell,
Inseparable and one are they.
The one feels God a tearing sigh,
And life empty of truth, futile.
To the other, God is undying Hope,
And life is Truth’s all-loving Smile.
