Dilip was all love and all support for Subhas, whom he called his "dearest friend on earth." When it came to lauding the character of his friend, Dilip's eloquent pen flowed freely:"None but an authentic mystic could pour out in letter after letter to his mother (and he was a mere teenager at the time) his touching aspiration for God and godliness, saints and holiness and the sacredness of the very soil of Mother India he adored."
