On behalf of the Secretary-General, I should like to thank you for your letter of 29 April 1982. You may be sure that the kind words you addressed to the Secretary-General with regard to his efforts in the cause of peace and international understanding were indeed appreciated.

With regard to your request for an appointment with the Secretary-General, I am certain you will understand that his very busy schedule will unfortunately
prevent him from meeting with you at present, but I should like to take this opportunity to convey to you our thanks for your prayers on behalf of the work of the United Nations.
