166. He has not surrendered

Although his life was marked by failure,
He did not surrender to ignorance-night.

Although he was drunk with fatigue,
excruciating fatigue,
He did not surrender to ignorance-night.

Although wild tears have conquered his life,
inner and outer,
He has not surrendered to ignorance-night.

His is not the nature to surrender,
But to accept life
And brave the buffets of life
And thus come out victorious.
